Running through out October is a exhibition of pencil and paper drawings to show not everything consists of canvas and paint
From the earliest reproductive marks made by our cave dwelling ancestors through to the Titans of the Renaissance and the present day the art of drawing has intrigued and inspired whether it be complex compositions, simple still life or human form to portray that which is part of things around us, or within us through an expression of emotion.
How many artistic masterpieces or architectural innovations have started life as a doodle on a piece of paper or the many product and fashion designs we take for granted and think nothing more about it as we sit on that chair with that cup watching that audio device.
Perspectives, Line, and Tone can transform a one-dimensional shape into a 2-dimension form.
It can make us close to, or many miles away, it can make us giants or midgets, we can appear to be looking up or looking down, sad angry or indifferent.
All these things from a sheet of wood pulp, clay or burnt stick.
As children we enthusiastically embrace drawing with an imagination run riot but somewhere along life we forget or fail to register what we are looking at, or are too busy to notice, it is just there but not seen which is our loss.
