"Lig`Dart is the new exhibition in the main gallery by two highly talented local artists Claire Lake and Kay Westerman from Friday 30th October until Thursday 19th November 2009. This combined exhibition of fine art and earthenware has Kays appreciation of nature emerging in the form of panoramic landscapes showing its broad vista's and then zooming in to show its creepy crawlies which make the landscape a living thing, where else can you see the original beetles, John, George, Paul, and Ringo, or a love bug as depicted with Kay's impish sense of humour, By contrast Claire uses the very earth itself to mould and shape it into geometric blocks which stand alone as wall art in their own right but when grouped into panels we are reminded that this ancient medium was used in 210 BC to form the body armour of Emperor Qin Shi Huang's terracotta army, however this sculptural wall art is here at the 'Coterie' and can be on your walls.
