Well known throughout Yorkshire ,Eric's watercolours features Yorkshire life and times both past and present recorded from personal observations during his lifetime.
Approaching his 92nd birthday and still painting Eric's retrospective features paintings's based on his life within the mining industry recording life, work and leisure sometimes juxtaposing all three within the same frame evoking men going on and off shift, old colleries as was, and communities all set within an atmosphere of grime and graft.
Having worked within the industry from leaving school at 14 years until retiring at 65 years apart from 6 years army service during WW2 this is a
unique opportunity to see life as it was lived through the eyes of someone who had lived it.
