Here Comes The Reverie

"Here Comes the Reverie" is a new British contemporary art exhibition making its debut in Sheffield at the Coterie Gallery'.

Once again the gallery is first in exhibiting ground braking work, featuring 6 Sheffield based artists experimenting with the traditional medium of watercolour to create varying degrees of unnerving and unusual subject matter. Their intention is to make and present paintings that intrigue the viewer enough to construct their own stories. 

They do this by using imagery that ranges from the eerie silence of deserted familiar suburbia, through to visions that seem to be from dreams or nightmares which take the viewer out of the comfort zone traditionally associated with watercolours. 

Nothing is finite, ideas are left hanging, presenting the viewer with a meaningful see sawing where the medium is capable of subverting the subject and vice versa.

The Exhibition opens on Friday 3rd with a preview between 6pm-8pm that is open to the public where the artists Patrick Bridge, Andy Cropper. Dominic Mason, Jade Morris, Jane Walker and Sean Williams will be in attendance to discuss and talk about their work.

"Here Comes The Reverie" runs until the 30th June.
